On June 2nd, 2014, Rihanna will receive the CFDA Fashion Icon of the Year Award in New York City! Rihanna’s Fashion Icon Award predecessors include Kate Moss and Lady Gaga who were awarded for their bold and innovative style choices. CFDA CEO Steven Kolb announced Rihanna as this year’s recipient saying, “We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory.”
As Steven Kolb said, Rihanna’s fashion choices are some of the most exciting and daring out there. She is always willing to take risks and step outside of the trends. She changes her hairstyle more often than I change my underwear. She is willing to be sexy and be a tomboy. But is her exciting look something we admire, or is it the train-wreck that we can’t look away from? You decide.
